Job summary

The Informaticist Registered Nurse at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs leads assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of hardware and software within the EHR ecosystem. You will collaborate with program leaders across facilities and networks to advance informatics-enabled care.

Preferred candidates have informatics experience and a registered nursing license, with leadership capabilities to guide teams and improve patient outcomes through technology-enabled practice.

Qualifications

• English proficiency required for direct patient care.
• Must have RN license in the United States.
• Graduate nursing degree from ACEN/CCNE-accredited program or equivalent.
• Eligibility to obtain state licensure and potential temporary appointment during bridge program.
• Knowledge of VA qualification standards and patient safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in informatics tools integrated with EHR.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan, implement and evaluate informatics initiatives.
• Develop informatics strategies to address complex issues in nursing care.
• Support care coordination and timely resolution of patient issues.
• Model high reliability and patient safety in informatics-enabled care.
