Job summary

Steele Memorial Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to serve as the Nursing House Supervisor, overseeing hospital operations during assigned shifts and ensuring optimal patient care. This role emphasizes leadership, coordination of staff, and adherence to nursing standards across units.

The position supports two classifications with compensations aligned to competencies and coverage ability, including a 10% increase for the Supervisor II level, as applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of three years nursing experience preferred.
• Minimum of one year supervisor or charge experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality of care and patient safety by adhering to standards; supervise nursing staff and ensure care quality.
• Nursing Supervisor leads on the floor and guides staff as needed.
• Manage staffing and on‑call decisions to align with census and patient needs.
• Coordinate shift coverage and respond to urgent staffing needs.
• Act as liaison between nursing staff, physicians, and hospital administration.
• Oversee admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Participate in audits and compliance reviews; implement quality improvements.
• Lead hospital response during emergencies and critical incidents.
