Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Kentucky or compact state.
• Bachelor's Degree or plan to complete within agreed timeframe, or 4 years of related experience.
• 3 years of clinical experience as an RN.
• Previous leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Represent the hospital as a key leader and coordinate issues to the appropriate level for problem solving.
• Supervise nursing care and round on all units to assess patient condition.
• Communicate with Nursing Managers/Directors about unit issues.
• Coordinate with Administrator on Call for critical situations.
• Collaborate with Bed Management for appropriate admissions and with Directors/Managers for patient placement.
• Guide flow of clinical information for transfers and admissions.
• Help manage patient flow to reduce delays and issues.
• Serve as a resource for staff and providers on operational needs.
• Oversee hospital staffing during overnight hours.
• Liaise with per diem agency staffing.
• Support Standards of Performance and ICARE values.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nursing Administrative Supervisor is responsible for staffing, patient care oversight, emergency direction, and handling complaints appropriately. This role functions as the administrative resource and expert clinician. The Supervisor provides operational and administrative oversight to all departments during off hours and weekends. The Administrative Supervisor problem solves and evaluates nursing care provided on the units and assign personnel accordingly.

What you will do in this role:

• Represent the hospital as a key leader and coordinates issues to appropriate level for problem solving

• Supervise nursing care and ascertain the condition of patients by rounding on all nursing units.

• Communicate with nursing Managers/Directors concerning issues on the individual unit(s).

• Communicate with the Administrator on Call regarding situations of critical importance.

• Work collaboratively with Bed Management to ensure appropriate admissions and with Directors/Managers for the proper placement of patients on the units.

• Facilitate the flow of clinical information for the transfer/admission of patients from clinical, hospitals, emergency departments and other external locations.

• Assist with managing patient flow to eliminate delays and decrease potential issues.

• Serve as a resource for staff and providers for all operational needs.

• Maintain responsibility for the oversight of staffing for the hospital during overnight hours.

• Serve as liaison for per diem agency staffing.

• Support the facility's Standards of Performance and ICARE values.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Kentucky or compact state required.

• Bachelor's Degree, plan to complete a Bachelor's Degree within an agreed upon timeframe, or 4 years of related experience required.

• 3 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse required.

• Prior leadership experience strongly preferred.

• Current BLS certification required.
