University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Nurse Supervisor for the Nurse-Family Partnership program, serving Cullman, Blount, St. Clair, and Etowah counties in Alabama. Travel within counties is required.

The role emphasizes reflective supervision, nursing leadership, and adherence to the NFP model to deliver home visiting services. Minimum RN license with BSN; Master’s degree preferred and 5 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• RN license current or by endorsement.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Two years recent experience in maternal/child health, public health, home visiting or mental/behavioral nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to nursing process and the NFP model of home visitation.
• Oversees recruitment and hiring of nurse home visitors and administrative data support staff.
• Supports policies, procedures, guidelines and standards of NFP and lead agency.
• Assigns client caseloads and monitors nurse home visitors' ability to build and manage caseload and provides supervision.
• Ensures that all NFP nurse home visitors complete assigned education and adhere to the NFP model.
• Develops therapeutic relationships, utilizes reflection and motivational interviewing with women and their families in a home visiting environment.
• Oversees data input and utilization of web-based reports and other reports available through NFP.
• Develops and implements regular reflective practice supervision and conducts field visits.
• Carries a client caseload as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
