Job summary

University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a dedicated nurse to provide comprehensive services to women and families in the Nurse-Family Partnership program. The role involves home visiting across Mobile, Baldwin, Escambia, and Conecuh Counties, building therapeutic relationships, and guiding families toward their goals.

Applicants should be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, hold an RN license in Alabama, and have CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field, or combination of education and experience.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse by endorsement from the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• BSN and three years of related experience preferred; two years in maternal/child health or home visiting preferred.
• Current CPR certification; valid driver's license and auto insurance; MVR check.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a strong preference; ability to work flexible schedule including some evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Develop therapeutic relationships with women and families in a home visiting setting.
• Assess needs across physical, emotional, social, and environmental domains; provide education, support and referrals.
• Participate in community coalitions to support client referrals and outreach.
• Support NFP and lead agency policies and standards; collaborate within the care team.
• Demonstrate leadership, adhere to nursing process and NFP model; carry caseload up to 25 clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
