Job summary

BayCare Health System in Clearwater’s Morton Plant facility is seeking a Nurse Helper I to support the nursing team under the direction of the RN. You will assist with patient care while adhering to safety protocols and avoiding contact with body fluids or devices containing them.

Required are Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire and completion of the Nurse Helper training class before orientation. HS Diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Standard WELLE® training is required.
• Must complete Nurse Helper training class prior to orientation on the nursing unit.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care according to BayCare role specific responsibilities of a Nurse Helper I. Directed by the RN. Assist with patient care without encountering any body fluids (i.e., blood, urine, stool, saliva, dirty linens, emesis, etc.) or any devices that contain body fluids.
