Job summary

Saint Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC) in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Heart Lung PreOp department. You will deliver compassionate, high-quality care, perform skilled procedures, and develop individualized care plans within an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Registered Nurse license required in AZ (AZ RN).
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • BSN and 1 year of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive, safe, and evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes.
  • Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balancing needs and comfort.
  • Demonstrates accountability for ethical behavior and advocates for patients.
  • Uses SBAR to notify physicians of findings and conducts bedside nurse-to-nurse reports.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Heart Lung PreOp department, you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery.
Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. You'll collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes.

  • Provides comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient.
  • Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient.
  • Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior, and supports ethical practice by addressing and/or escalating issues.
  • Serves as an advocate for patients needs by demonstrating holistic care practices
  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition (i.e. Lab, vitals, signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.
  • Utilizes SBAR format tool to notify physicians, and other providers of clinical findings, performs nurse-to-nurse report at the bedside.
Job Requirements
Required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Registered Nurse: AZ
  • American Heart Association
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), within 90 Days
Preferred
  • BSN and One year recent acute care experience
