Job summary

University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson is seeking a December Nurse Graduate for the Children's of Mississippi- Float Pool. Nurses who are board eligible may work under direct supervision and, once deemed competent, provide direct and indirect patient care mastered during orientation, under RN delegation to ensure safe, therapeutic care until licensure.

Requirements include an Associate's degree or higher in Nursing/Diploma and the ability to obtain a Mississippi nursing license

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in Nursing/Diploma.
• Must obtain a valid nursing license within 120 days of hire.
• Board-eligible from an accredited school of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Records vital signs, intake, outputs, pulse oximetry and weights accurately and reports changes to RN.
• Assists and prepares patients for treatment, exams, and procedures as directed by RN.
• Administers baths and basic hygiene measures as directed by RN.
• Assists with collection and delivery of specimens to appropriate labs timely.
• Weighs, lifts, turns, and repositions patients using proper body mechanics.
• Submits proper patient charges for supplies/equipment and reports equipment in need of repair.
