Job summary

A healthcare provider is seeking a clinic float staff nurse to provide high-quality care to patients and float to assigned physician clinics when short-staffed. The ideal candidate must have a valid Mississippi nursing license and preferably one year of clinical experience. Responsibilities include preparing medicines, performing dressing changes, and effectively communicating with patients. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Job description

Mississippi Sports Medicine is hiring a clinic float staff nurse. This position will provide high-quality care to patients seen within the clinic. The clinic float nurse is responsible for floating to assigned physician clinics when the group is short‑staffed.

Location: 1325 E Fortification St, Jackson, MS 39202, USA

Responsibilities

• Full‑time position: Monday‑Friday, 7:30 am‑5:00 pm
• Maintains competency in multiple orthopedic sub‑specialty areas
• Assists groups, within the clinics, as needed
• Prepares medicines according to physician request
• Performs dressing changes and staple/suture removal
• Records appropriate clinical notes and maintains patient records
• Schedules and pre‑certifies patient surgeries and procedures
• Effectively communicates with patients

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Certification / License: Must possess a valid Mississippi nursing license

Experience: One‑year clinical experience preferred
