Job summary

The School of Nursing at the University of Kansas Medical Center seeks a nurse faculty (clinical or research track) to support the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in the DNP nursing program. This full-time (12-month appointment), faculty position reports to the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in nursing (DNP or PhD) required.
• State of Kansas RN license or eligibility.
• State of Kansas APRN license or eligibility.
• Possess and maintain a current certification as an FNP.
• One year of clinical experience as an FNP.

Responsibilities

• Teach nursing students in didactic courses online, in-person, or hybrid, clinical settings, simulation, and clinical laboratory settings in the DNP program.
• Participate in course and curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation activities.
• Participate in service-related activities (committees, mentoring) to support the school’s mission.
• Collaborate with KU nursing faculty and external stakeholders such as health system partners.
• For tenure-earning appointments: establish and maintain an independent, externally funded research program and disseminate scholarly work through publications and presentations.
