Saint Francis Hospital Memphis is offering a Nurse Extern I program to provide nursing students with hands-on clinical experience within a Medical-Surgical unit. Participants will work closely with the nursing team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care while participating in a guided training program aligned with state Board of Nursing scope.

This externship supports skill development across multiple nursing specialties and aims to prepare students for transition into professional nursing

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of two twelve-hour shifts per month.

Saint Francis Hospital Nurse Externship program is an excellent opportunity for nursing students to gain hands-on clinical experience while supporting our exceptional nursing teams. This role allows students to strengthen their clinical skills, enhance patient care knowledge, and prepare for a successful transition into professional nursing practice. This is a developmental program for nursing students who want to develop multiple and varied clinical skills in a multiple nursing specialties. This position requires participation in a guided training and development program aligned to the scope outlines by the State-specific Board of Nursing.

Position Details

All Nurse Extern I employees begin their externship on a Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) unit , working closely with the nursing team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Scheduling is based on departmental needs and individual availability
