HCA HealthONE Aurora is seeking a Nurse Extern PRN Ortho Spine to join our nursing team. You will gain hands-on experience while exploring the Registered Nurse role, delivering safe, compassionate care, and building skills for advanced responsibilities as you progress through your nursing program.

Your duties include helping with ADLs, vital signs, wound care, documenting care, coordinating with the nursing team, and supporting patient and family understanding of care plans.

Qualifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree.
• 1 year of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Providing essential care for patients by helping with ADLs, checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene.
• Performing nursing tasks like wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures as you gain experience.
• Documenting care accurately and communicating timely updates with the nursing team to keep patient care seamless and coordinated.
• Helping patients and families understand their care plans and offering guidance for their health and recovery.
• Keeping patient areas clean and safe by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment.
• Engaging in learning opportunities, sharing ideas to improve care, and partnering with your supervisor to build your personal career development plan.
