Job summary

Corpus Christi Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Extern - PRN to join its nursing team. The role supports patient-centered care under RN supervision and is ideal for students currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.

Eligible candidates should be enrolled in an Associates or Bachelor degree program, have Fundamentals of Nursing, and obtain BLS within 30 days of start. The position may require up to 24 productive hours per month and uses a float pool for placement.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing in an Associates or Bachelor Degree Program.
• Ideally at least 6 months remaining prior to graduation.
• Completion of Fundamentals or Foundations of Nursing course required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Be able to work 24 productive hours in a month.

Responsibilities

• Provides high-quality, patient-centered care under RN supervision.
• Assists nursing staff with delegated basic patient care tasks.
• Maintains clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment.
• Performs higher-level procedures as competency allows once training is completed.

Education

Nursing program enrollment (Associates or BSN)
