Job summary

UVA Health in Manassas, VA invites nursing students entering their final year to apply for the Nurse Extern – Intensive Critical Care Unit. The eight-week program runs June–August 2027 with graduation window December 2027–May 2028, under RN supervision in an inpatient/outpatient setting.

Schedule is 36–40 hours weekly across 12-hour shifts, with day or night options. Compensation is $17.28 per hour, and the role supports growth toward future UVA Health opportunities within our community

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled nursing student entering last year with graduation window December 2027–May 2028.
• Students may remain employed as a Nurse Extern until graduation completion.
• Following graduation and board completion they will need to apply for open positions and continue through the hiring process.
