Summary Description

The Nurse Extern II (NE II) is a member of the patient care services team with primary responsibilities for technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities.

• The NE II works under the supervision of a registered nurse, who delegates tasks based on patient needs and NE II skills and abilities.
• The NE II reports all deviations from expected patient parameters to the registered nurse.
• Specific patient care tasks may vary widely depending on the unit or service line, based on the patient population.
• The Nurse Extern II assists with providing patient care such as ADLs, vitals, ambulation, and other duties within the scope of a patient care tech or equivalent, assigned by an RN each shift.
• The assigned RN mentors the Nurse Extern II and provides ongoing feedback in the clinical area.

Qualifications
