Tenet Healthcare's Abrazo Arrowhead Campus in Glendale seeks a Non physician student professional nurse as a Nurse Extern. You will provide individualized, indirect bedside nursing care under the direction of an RN.

This role emphasizes compassionate patient care, early recognition of changes in condition, and transmission of patient information. You will support discharge planning and keep the unit organized.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a senior nursing student and actively progressing through the program.
• Requires completion of at least three semesters of nursing coursework and submission requirements.
• CPR certification is required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Observes, reports and responds to patients' needs across physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety/risk and discharge planning.
• Performs direct patient care activities under RN guidance.
• Recognizes early changes in patient condition and reports to RN.
• Transmits patient status and plan of care to the team.
• Documents vital signs, I&O, height/weight and ADLs.
• Keeps the unit clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.
• Other related tasks as assigned
