Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence – Trans Mountain Campus in El Paso is seeking a Nurse Extern I to join a developmental float pool for nursing students. The role provides broad clinical exposure across units and supports the nursing team while building foundational clinical skills in a guided training program.

This per diem, rotating shift position requires enrollment in an accredited RN program and completion of the Fundamentals of Nursing course, with a path aligned to State Board of Nursing scope.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited RN nursing program.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Nursing course.
• Completion of the first round of clinical rotations in full.

Responsibilities

• The Nurse Extern I assists the Registered Nurse and care team by participating in patient care activities, including observation, basic patient care, and reporting relevant information to the RN, in accordance with hospital policy and scope of practice.

Education

Completion of the first round of clinical rotations in full
