Job summary

UNTWN Uniontown Hospital is seeking nursing students for a temporary position to practice in all nursing areas. The role is co-assigned with an RN and may provide direct patient care under RN supervision.

Minimum qualifications include being in the final semester/year of an accredited RN program and obtaining Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire. The position involves both direct and indirect patient care duties and a range of clinical responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must be entering final semester/year of Diploma/Associate or Baccalaureate RN program.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nurse in direct patient care to promote comfort and support diagnostic/treatment procedures.
• Assist with activities of daily living per patient needs, under supervision.
• Perform designated procedures per departmental procedures.
• Observe, record, and report patient status to the RN promptly.
• Assist RN with examinations and procedures.
• Demonstrate competency in basic/intermediate care as verified by nurse mentor or supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety to prevent infections.
• May act as sitter or assist with medication transport under supervision.
