Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or enrolled in Henry Ford Health Early College Program.
Enrolled in an accredited nursing program with two clinical rotations completed.
Two clinical rotations, including Med/Surg in acute care.
Maintain active enrollment and provide transcripts/plan of work as required.
Extern position is time-limited: ADN up to 12 months; BSN up to 24 months.

Responsibilities

Perform basic patient care duties under RN supervision.
Assist in planning and implementing patient care.
Respond to emergencies per established procedures.
Provide input for ongoing nursing education.
Complete 180-day introductory period and learn policies.
