Job summary

Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Kentucky is seeking a Nurse Extern (PRN) to join our team. You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, document care provided, and monitor patient conditions as appropriate.

We value teamwork and professional development. Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program (third year or higher) and maintain good standing, with BLS certification required.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an approved school of nursing.
• Third year student or higher and graduate within 13 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to supervising RN.
• Maintains positive professional relationships with patient/families and health care team.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines including transfer, discharge, referral and psychosocial support.
• Acts as an advocate for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.
