Job summary

Reston Hospital Center in Reston, VA, part of HCA Healthcare, is hiring a Nurse Extern PRN in the Emergency Department. You will gain hands-on experience while assisting the nursing team in delivering safe, compassionate care.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs and vital signs, wound and catheter care, documenting care, supporting patient education, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Must be enrolled in an RN program and obtain Basic Life Support within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an RN program.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Providing essential patient care including ADLs, vital signs, mobility and hygiene.
• Performing nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter care, specimen collection and other basic procedures.
• Documenting care and communicating timely updates with the nursing team.
• Help patients and families understand their care plans and guidance.
• Maintain clean, safe patient areas following infection prevention practices.
• Participate in ongoing learning opportunities and career development planning with your supervisor.
