Job summary

Infor in the United States is seeking a Nurse Extern to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Charge/Registered Nurse and/or Physician. You will document patient care, monitor progress, and assist with daily living activities in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role includes hourly rounds, communication with patients and families, and collaboration with licensed staff. CPR rotation and infection prevention compliance are required components of the position.

Qualifications

• Completion of one year semester of Nursing Fundamentals in an accredited school of nursing program.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• BLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Proficiency in computer documentation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living for an assigned patient population.
• Complete hourly rounds on assigned patient population.
• Communicate with patients and families and act as liaison between patient and licensed staff.
• Assist in answering call lights promptly.
• Perform duties within the nurse extern rotation.
• Monitor supplies and restock as needed.
• Assist in specimen collection, identification and transport to lab.
• Assist clinically as needed.
• Perform rotation in CPR as required.
• Help patients obtain essentials such as blankets, fluids and nutrition after approval from attending or RN.
• Use technology safely and follow infection prevention standards.
