Job summary

Dignity Health – Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, CA is hiring a full-time Emergency Department Registered Nurse for night shifts. The role involves caring for patients with urgent needs in a dynamic ED, collaborating with physicians and teams to deliver trauma, stroke, and specialty care.

Candidates must have two years ED RN experience, an active CA RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, TNCC and MICN training within specified timeframes, and an Associate Degree in Nursing.

Qualifications

  • Two years of recent ED RN experience within the last five years.
  • Active California RN license.
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association).
  • ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
  • PALS certification (American Heart Association).
  • TNCC within six months of hire.
  • MICN within twenty four months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assessment: perform total body and system assessments per unit standards.
  • Care of patient: plan, implement, evaluate and educate.
  • Clinical/Technical Skills: use unit-specific tech, protocols, and interventions.
  • Documentation: legible, timely, concise, accurate in line with policies.
  • Proficient with the computerized documentation system.
  • Leadership: accept responsibility and cooperate with facility leadership.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our full time night Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN), you will help a diverse patient population experiencing urgent medical needs to receive expert, compassionate, and timely care so they can recover and return to their optimal health as quickly and safely as possible.

Every day you will work within a dynamic, multi-faceted, and team-oriented Emergency Department serving approximately 80,000 patients annually. You will be expected to collaborate closely with skilled physicians, management, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality trauma, stroke, and specialized care within various regional receiving specialties like ortho, high-risk maternity, NICU, and STEMI.

To be successful in this role, you must thrive in a fast-paced, busy environment, be dedicated to collaborative practice, possess exceptional clinical skills relevant to emergency medicine, and demonstrate a commitment to being part of a national leader in trauma and specialized care.

  • Assessment: Performs total body and system assessment each shift/visit according to unit standards.
  • Care of Patient: Including planning, implementing, evaluating and educating.
  • Clinical/Technical Skills: Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols, standards and interventions specific to the assigned unit.
  • Documentation: Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures.
  • Proficient and competent with the computerized documentation system.
  • Leadership: Accepts responsibility and accountability for own decisions and behaviors. Recognizes, accepts and cooperates with direction from facility leadership.

We are offering a $15,000 Sign On Bonus to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Job Requirements
Required
  • Two (2) years recent experience in an Emergency department as a RN within the last five (5) years
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification - American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification - American Heart Association
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within six (6) months of hire
  • Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) within twenty four (24) months of hire
  • Minimum Associates Degree in Nursing

Pay Range

$72.64 - $88.21 /hour
