Job summary

Dignity Health - St. Joseph's Medical Center in Stockton, CA, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for Emergency Services to provide holistic, safe, and confidential care from admission to discharge. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while documenting thoroughly and mentoring new staff in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements include an RN license in California and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications. A $5,000 sign-on is offered for eligible hires with relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an RN School of Nursing.
  • Active RN license in California.
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association.
  • ACLS certification from American Heart Association.
  • PALS certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients and families to determine physical, psycho-social, spiritual, and discharge needs.
  • Document thorough assessments, care plans, and evaluations.
  • Perform reassessments and care at required intervals.
  • Lead and mentor new staff; enforce safety and policy adherence.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Registered Nurse (RN) in Emergency Services, you will help individuals and families receive holistic, effective, and appropriate care in a safe and confidential environment so they can achieve optimal health outcomes from admission to discharge. Every day you will assess patients, plan, implement, and evaluate their care, utilizing your clinical skills and technology. You will be expected to document thoroughly, accept leadership direction, mentor new staff, engage in continuous self-development, and maintain a safe patient environment while adhering to policies and procedures. To be successful in this role, you will possess keen assessment skills, acute critical thinking, and a patient-first mindset, driven by a profound enthusiasm to help others. Your sense of urgency and dedication to excellence in a fast-paced environment will not only support patient recovery but also fuel your own career advancement.

  • Assesses the physical, psycho-social, spiritual, cultural, functional, high risk and discharge needs of the patient and family.
  • Completes and documents initial assessment/care within required time frames.
  • Performs reassessments/care at intervals as required or appropriate to the patient's specific needs.
  • Ensures physical assessment/care includes all major body systems.
  • Ensures spiritual assessment/care includes actual/expressed needs.
  • Incorporates cultural and ethnic factors into assessment/care.
Sign on
  • $5,000 Sign on for eligible new hires with at least 1 year of relevant experience within the last 3-5 years.
Job Requirements
  • Graduate of an RN School of Nursing
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification - American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification - American Heart Association
Preferred
  • Bachelors in health related field
  • ED experience
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification
