Job Summary and Qualifications
The Nurse Educator enhances professional practice and quality patient care through evidence-based educational programs promoting competency among nursing, inter-professional, and non-licensed staff.
In this role, you will:
- Participate in developing, managing, facilitating, and evaluating onboarding and orientation programs for healthcare personnel.
- Provide orientation/onboarding to promote retention.
- Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to refine programs based on evaluations.
- Manage competency development and evaluation.
- Design educational activities to address practice gaps, aligning with organizational requests.
- Create activities to improve knowledge, skills, and practice, encouraging engagement.
- Promote and incorporate Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) to improve care, participating in research and quality improvement.
- Identify strategies for lifelong learning and skill mastery, utilizing the novice-to-expert continuum.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in clinical education, academia, or leadership (preferred).
- At least 2 years of experience in an acute care hospital (preferred).
- Current RN license in practice state or active compact license required.
- Nationally recognized specialty certification preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
