Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Educator enhances practice and quality patient care via evidence-based educational programs that promote professional competency among nursing and clinical staff.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, coordinate, manage, facilitate, and evaluate onboarding and orientation programs for healthcare personnel.
  • Provide orientation/onboarding to promote retention.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to refine programs based on evaluations.
  • Manage competency development and evaluation.
  • Design educational activities to address practice gaps for licensed and non-licensed staff, aligned with clinical education requests.
  • Create activities to improve knowledge, skills, and practice, encouraging engagement.
  • Promote and incorporate Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) to improve practice, participating in research and Quality Improvement (QI).
  • Identify and develop lifelong learning strategies.
  • Use the novice-to-expert continuum to develop staff skills and mastery.

Experience and Education Needed:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required)
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (preferred)
  • 2+ years in clinical education, academia, or leadership (preferred)
  • 2+ years in acute care hospital (preferred)
  • Current RN license in practice state or active compact license (required)
  • Nationally recognized specialty certification (preferred)
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification (required)
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
