Summary
The Nurse Transition to Practice (RNTTP) Program Coordinator Registered Nurse (RN) demonstrates leadership, experience, functions independently, and is responsible for leading the RNTTP Residency Program in achieving its mission, goals, and expected outcomes.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- English Language Proficiency
- In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7403(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless proficient in basic written and spoken English
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (ACEN or CCNE)
- OR enrolled in a master's level bridge program in nursing with coursework equivalent to a bachelor's degree, with opportunity for licensure prior to program completion
- Upon licensure, may be appointed temporarily and converted to permanent after graduation
- Foreign graduates must possess current unrestricted registration and may need degree validation
- Current unrestricted RN license in U.S. state, territory, or D.C.
- Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) exception: candidates without licensure may be appointed temporarily while pursuing licensure

Experience and Education:
- Nurse I - Level I: ADN or Diploma in Nursing
- Nurse I - Level II: ADN or Diploma + 1 year experience or BSN
- Nurse I - Level III: ADN or Diploma + 2 years experience, or BSN + 1 year, or MSN
- Nurse II: BSN + 2 years experience or MSN + 1 year or related doctorate
- Nurse III: MSN + 2 years experience or related doctorate + 1 year experience
Preferred Experience:
- Program management: 1 year
- Nurse faculty: 2 years
- Direct patient care
- MSN in education or related field
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Moderate lifting and carrying, straight pulling, pushing, reaching, use of fingers, walking, standing, bending, rapid coordination, visual and auditory capabilities, stability, PPE usage, teamwork, and irregular hours
Duties
- Responsible for all elements of nursing care and supervision
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on age-specific needs
- Coordinate care focusing on education, self-management, and satisfaction
- Follow established procedures and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Lead and manage complex client care, develop program initiatives, and evaluate program effectiveness
- Promote transition from academia to clinical practice, foster professional socialization, and disseminate program outcomes
