Qualifications

• For All Instructors (RN or LPN): current, active nursing license
• Minimum of two years nursing experience
• At least one year of experience in a long-term care facility
• Completion of the Teaching-the-Educator (TIE) workshop through Pennsylvania State University
• Resume documenting experience in meeting residents' psychosocial, behavioral, cognitive, and physical needs
• Acceptable PA Criminal History Record Information
• Documentation of a negative tuberculosis test per clinical site policy

Responsibilities

• Delivers classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction in accordance with OBRA and PDE requirements
• Ensures all required curriculum content is taught and documented
• Evaluates student performance and provides feedback
• Maintains accurate and complete course records, including attendance, lesson plans, and skills validation
• Ensures students demonstrate required knowledge and skills
• Utilizes and maintains performance checklists consistent with OBRA standards
• Prepares students for competency evaluation and certification
• Maintains instructor schedules demonstrating compliance with state and federal requirements
• Ensures all documentation meets regulatory standards and is available for review
• Participates in program reviews, audits, and surveys as required
