Qualifications

• Must have a current nursing license in Florida.
• CPR or BLS certification is required.
• At least one year of experience in a psychiatric setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess education needs of clinical staff for patient care competency.
• Lead nursing staff in care delivery in compliance with standards.
• Monitor infection control procedures in accordance with policy.
• Identify outbreaks or clusters of infectious disease.

Skills

Proficiency in medical terminology

Experience with behavioral health patients

Knowledge of patient care principles for adult psychiatric patients

Experience working with children in a psychiatric setting

Competence in taking vital signs accurately

Strong communication skills

Strong critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills

Education

Current license to practice nursing in Florida

Current CPR or BLS certification

Preferred one year of experience in psychiatric inpatient setting
