University Behavioral Center, part of UHS, seeks a Clinical Educator & Infection Control Nurse in Orlando, FL. This full-time RN role leads staff education and infection-control initiatives within a psychiatric inpatient setting and supports patient safety and care quality.

Qualified candidates hold Florida RN licensure, CPR/BLS, and relevant psychiatric inpatient experience. 12-hour shifts with day/night options and rotating weekends are available, with comprehensive benefits.

• Preferred one year of experience in a psychiatric inpatient setting with patients aged 5-65+.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assesses the education needs of clinical staff to ensure they are competent to provide direct patient care
• Provide leadership to the nursing staff in the nursing care delivery system in accordance with the hospital’s philosophy and established nursing standards of practice of care and policies and procedures
• Provide infection control orientation for hospital staff
• Provide leadership and consultation to staff to monitor infection control procedures in accordance with hospital’s policies
• Identify the occurrence of outbreaks or clusters of infectious diseases

Our mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to assist individuals in leading more productive and fulfilling lives. The facility is located on a beautiful 14-acre campus in Orlando, Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds. We are currently seeking qualified professionals with active/clear license in the state of Florida. Previous experience in a psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program is required.

The Clinical Educator & Infection Control Nurse is a full-time, professional nurse position, providing discipline-focused orientation for nursing staff.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Current license to practice nursing in the State of Florida
• Current CPR or BLS certification.
• Preferred one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting with patients aged 5-65yrs+.
• Work hours: 12‑hour shifts; day or night shift available; rotating weekends

Skills:

• Proficiency in medical terminology for medical documentation is preferred.
• Experience with behavioral health patient is preferred.
• Knowledge of patient care principles for adult psychiatric patients is beneficial.
• Experience working with children in a psychiatric setting is highly desirable.
• Competence in taking vital signs accurately.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Strong critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills.
