Job summary

Genesis Healthcare is seeking a Nurse Educator to orient and educate nursing staff in the center, ensuring safe, high-quality care in line with federal and state guidelines and facility policies.

You will develop education programs, supervise new staff during orientation, conduct annual competency testing, and oversee the Employee Health Program, including vaccines and immunizations for all employees. A strong clinical background in gerontology is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
• Minimum three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator preferred.
• Excellence in clinical nursing skills required.
• Experience in Gerontology preferred.
• Training and/or experience in adult learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orient and educate all nursing personnel in the nursing center.
• Ensure safe, effective nursing care according to guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Report to the Director of Nursing and supervise orientation for new staff.
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluate nursing staff performance.
• Oversee Employee Health Program including TB and hepatitis vaccines and influenza immunizations.
