Job summary

Mission Hospital is seeking a Nurse Educator to advance professional practice and patient care through evidence-based education for nursing, inter-professional, and non-licensed staff at our facility.

You will develop onboarding programs, support retention, and collaborate with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to refine curricula. The role emphasizes competency, lifelong learning, and integration of evidence-based practice in daily care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
• Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in acute care hospital preferred.
• Currently licensed as an RN in the state of practice or active compact state license required.
• Nationally Recognized Specialty certification preferred.
• Basic Life Saving (BLS) required.
• Ability to Travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the development, coordination, managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
• Provides orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
• Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust the program based on evaluation results.
• Participates in the development, coordination, and management of facilitating, conducting, and evaluating competency.
• Designs and identifies educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences, including licensed and non-licensed healthcare personnel, aligned with education processes.
• Develops activities to achieve outcomes related to deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill and practice.
• Plans educational content delivery that encourages learner engagement.
• Promotes and integrates the EBP to improve practice; conducts research, EBP, and QI in patient care settings.
• Identifies and develops strategies to facilitate lifelong learning.
• Utilizes novice-to-expert continuum when developing staff.
