Job summary

McLeod Health in Florence, SC seeks an experienced Nurse Educator to lead clinical instruction and orientation for nursing staff. You will coordinate competencies, learning environments, and LMS documentation for new hires and transfers.

You will also collaborate with Talent Management, conduct skills validations, and support BLS/ACLS/PALS trainings, mentoring other instructors and serving as a resource for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience and/or training.
• Active SC Registered Nurse License (RN).
• ACLS Instructor, PALS Instructor, BLS Instructor certifications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with other Nurse Educators to ensure high quality, evidence programs are being implemented.
• Facilitates licensed and unlicensed Nursing Orientation, providing an appropriate learning environment for new hires.
• Serves as a primary resource for new graduates and transfers for clinical competency.
• Documents competencies for new hires and transfers attending Nursing Orientation in the McLeod Health LMS.
• Collaborates with Talent Management to schedule orientation and Skills Validation for new hires, contract staff and transfer employees.
• Conducts Skills Validations for experienced Registered Nurses.
• Creates and completes classes, including attendance, in the McLeod Health LMS.
• Participates in Performance Improvement initiatives in the department.
• Participates with the McLeod Health Training Center for BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications, instructing classes, mentoring other instructors, serving as a resource for students.
• Facilitates clinical classes for novice and experienced clinical staff, including, but not limited to, Registered Nurses, Medical Surgical Technicians, Sitters, and Secretaries.
• Other duties as assigned.
