Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Nurse Professional Development Generalist (NPD), an RN Educator who designs teaching strategies and lifelong learning infrastructure to improve patient care. The role emphasizes adult learning, curriculum development, and leadership in education with responsibilities across practice transitions, change management, research and quality initiatives.

Schedule is 10–12 hours per week; Healing Touch certifications, RN and BLS licenses, and AHNA membership are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing from an NLN/AACN accredited program.
• RN with 3+ years nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient computer skills.
• Magnet knowledge and ongoing licensure/certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Learning facilitator: develop teaching strategies and lifelong-learning programs.
• Plan orientation and competency requirements for staff across settings.
• Lead change initiatives and project management for education outcomes.
• Mentor staff to support professional growth and role transitions.
• Align activities with organizational goals and patient-safety measures.
• Champion scientific inquiry and disseminate findings to the team.
• Adhere to organizational competencies; participate in governance as needed.
• Lift and move up to 5 lbs, stand for extended periods as required.
