Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks a Nurse Educator to apply advanced nursing knowledge and evidence-based education interventions. You will bridge gaps through adult learning theories and a structured design process, guiding staff education and interprofessional teaching.

This on-site role emphasizes practical implementation across learning environments. Requires RN licensure in the practicing state, CNS or RN-BC certification within 6 months, and 3+ years of clinical teaching/education

Qualifications

Must hold RN license in the practicing state.
CNS certification by the ANCC, or RN-BC certification within 6 months.
Master's Degree in Nursing, or Bachelor's in Nursing with a Master's in Education or related field.
Typically 3 years of experience in a clinical nursing role with teaching or training.

Responsibilities

Through application of ANPD principles and acting in the roles of advisor, change agent, collaborator, communicator, consultant, facilitator, leader, mentor, researcher the team member applies advanced knowledge of nursing in the delivery of evidenced-based nursing and education interventions using the educational design process to bridge the knowledge, skills, and/or practice gaps identified through a needs assessment.
Collects data and information to validate an identified gap in professional practice and to determine the specific knowledge, skill, or practice deficit or opportunity needed.
Analyzes cost and ROI for learning activities, programs, and projects, transforming processes through change using project management and improvement processes.
Develops context-specific outcomes based on stakeholders’ values, goals, and current evidence; establishes a plan to achieve outcomes with culturally relevant strategies.
Promotes generation and dissemination of new knowledge to guide clinical practice and improve patient care; role models positive learning environments.
Assesses learner characteristics and creates effective learning environments; uses technology; evaluates outcomes of staff education; mentors NEPD generalist as applicable.
Advises in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning materials and environments; ensures cultural relevance.
