Coleman Health Services in Chillicothe, OH is seeking a Nurse Director of Intensive Crisis Services to lead our 24/7 nursing operations and guide evidence-based crisis care for the community.

The role includes hiring and supervising RNs, LPNs, and mental health technicians; overseeing patient assessment, medication management, and linkage to services; and coordinating team responses to emergencies with de-escalation and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted Ohio RN license required.
• Experience in crisis services or inpatient psychiatry.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Obtain an NPI number and Ohio Medicaid number.
• Willing to pass criminal background, drug/TB screening, and driving checks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee 24/7/365 nursing operations.
• Ensure safe management of high-risk patients.
• Hire, onboard, and supervise RNs, LPNs, Mental Health Technicians, and others as assigned.
• Provide direct services for clients including assessment, monitoring, medication management, and linkage to services.
• Participate in team responses to behavioral and psychiatric emergencies, including seclusion and restraint as clinically indicated and allowed by Ohio law.
• Utilize de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques to reduce risk and support stabilization.

We are seeking a Director of Nursing to join our team in Chillicothe, Ohio where you will help us shape the future of local behavioral healthcare by providing compassionate, evidence-based crisis support to our community.

Job Duties:

• Provide direct oversight of 24/7/365 nursing operations
• Ensures safe management of suicidal, homicidal, and high-risk patients
• Hire, onboard, and supervise RNs, LPNs, Mental Health Technicians, and others as assigned
• Provide direct services for clients as needed, including assessment, monitoring progress, medication management, and linking to services
• Participate in team-based responses to behavioral and psychiatric emergencies, including implementation of seclusion and restraint interventions when clinically indicated and authorized in accordance with Ohio law, agency policy, and approved training methods.
• Utilize verbal de-escalation, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention techniques to reduce risk and support stabilization.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have unrestricted Ohio RN License
• Must have experience with Crisis Services or inpatient psychiatry
• A valid Ohio driver's license and excellent driving record
• Obtain an NPI number and Ohio Medicaid number.
• Must be willing to complete and have favorable results for criminal background check, drug/TB screening, and driving check if selected for the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in crisis receiving or stabilization settings
• Experience with regulatory surveys

Physical Requirements:

• Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and move throughout the facility for extended periods
• Must be able to safely lift, push, pull, or assist in moving up to 50 pounds independently and heavier weights with assistance
• Must be able to physically participate in approved crisis intervention and safety procedures, including physical escorts, therapeutic holds, and restraint interventions
