Sheppard Pratt seeks an RN leader to manage two inpatient adolescent units, guiding clinical care and discharge planning toward day hospital/outpatient pathways. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, confidential, and compassionate care for youth in crisis.

The role emphasizes supervisory responsibilities, staffing decisions, and adherence to regulatory standards, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and staff development.

Qualifications

• Must have active Maryland RN license at appointment.
• BSN preferred; two to three years of related experience, including inpatient psychiatric nursing.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to supervise nursing staff.
• Ability to reassign staff to meet unit demands and programming needs.

Responsibilities

• Communicates therapeutically with patients at their level.
• Assigns inpatient rooms per programming tracks on units.
• Reassigns nursing staff to ensure optimal coverage and regulatory compliance.
• Mentors and orients new nursing staff on the unit.
• Monitors nursing documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Assists nurse leader in resolving clinical crises and quality initiatives.
• Contributes to unit procedures and performance appraisals.
