Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Nurse Clinician to provide comprehensive nursing care in a multidisciplinary setting. You will perform patient assessments via phone or in person, implement nursing interventions, and organize patient education for the served population.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in Nursing, Illinois RN licensure, CPR certification, and at least 2 years of clinical experience in acute or ambulatory care. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred for some positions.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• State license as a Registered Nurse in Illinois.
• Certification in Basic CPR is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with OSHA.
• Provide pre-attending care and comprehensive nursing assessments.
• Perform routine nursing duties including phlebotomy and medication administration.
• Interpret test results and document interventions in medical records.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care.
• Triage and prioritize urgent calls using clinical assessment skills.
• Manage urgent/emergent medical situations per organizational protocols.
• Serve as a resource for staff and physicians for problem solving and decision making.
• Initiate and coordinate patient education and community outreach.
