Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a full-time RN focused on utilization review and discharge planning. You will collaborate with care teams to ensure appropriate levels of care and support patient transitions.

The role requires MA RN license and BLS, with 3+ years of medical/surgical nursing and 2+ years in case/utilization management. Weekend rotation and adherence to regulatory standards are included.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with Massachusetts license and BLS certification.
• Three years of medical/surgical nursing, two years in case/utilization management preferred.
• Strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs utilization review and discharge planning for inpatient admissions.
• Applies Interqual, AEP or other clinic criteria to determine appropriateness of care.
• Leads care team in selecting appropriate, safe hospital or post-acute options.
• Collaborates with Community Case Managers for high-risk patients.
• Participates in weekend/holiday/beeper rotation as needed.
• Supports quality management, regulatory compliance, and pathway development.
• Coordinates with Post Acute Care Coordinator for timely post-acute access.

Education

Registered Nurse, Bachelors Degree or commensurate experience preferred.
