Job summary

South Western Communications (SWC) is hiring a Data Communications Technician to install nurse call devices and related system components, route and manage low-voltage cabling, and perform system testing and commissioning in healthcare and commercial settings.

The role involves reading blueprints, supporting service calls, and training customers on proper system operation, with on-call rotation participation as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of field experience in low-voltage systems
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in healthcare/construction environments

Responsibilities

• Install nurse call devices and associated system components
• Route, support, label, and manage low-voltage cabling
• Troubleshoot nurse call devices, wiring, and communication issues
• Perform system testing, inspections, and commissioning activities
• Read blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams
• Complete project and service documentation
• Train customers on proper system operation
• Support service calls and scheduled maintenance activities
• Participate in scheduled on-call support rotations
