Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Mount Clemens, MI, seeks a Patient Care Assistant for Telemetry 4S to assist during night shifts under RN supervision. You will perform essential patient-care activities and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients.

Responsibilities include aiding with daily living activities, providing compassionate support to patients and families, and ensuring adherence to HIPAA and OSHA guidelines. Weekend shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Formal medical training or nursing school enrollment, or 2+ years in a Patient Care Associate/Nurse Assistant role.
• BLS certification required before start date and valid beyond 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN to support treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support and assistance to patients and families.
• Assists with daily activities and personal hygiene (bathing, feeding, dressing, mobility).

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.


• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.


• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.


• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.


• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.


• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or GED


• Formal education or training in a medical careers program OR enrollment in nursing school OR two or more years’ experience in a Patient Care Associate/Nurse Assistant role
