Job summary

Corewell Health’s Royal Oak Hospital is seeking a Full-time CNA for the Pre Post Recovery South Tower. You will provide patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, assist with post-surgical and orthopaedic patients, and document care in the electronic medical record.

This role offers day shifts from 5:30 am to 4:00 pm, 40 hours weekly, with benefits, a sign-on bonus up to $1500, and opportunities for professional growth within a Magnet-designated academic center in Michigan.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required
• Current CNA certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients according to the plan of care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
• Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize safety.
• Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
• Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.

About the unit

Care of post-surgical orthopaedic and neuro patients of all ages. Orthopaedic joints, sports medicine, spine, tumor, trauma, and foot and ankle. Neurosurgery of the brain and spine. Inpatient and outpatient PACU with a separate Preop area.
