Job summary

Corewell Health's Troy Hospital is seeking a part-time patient care observer on 5 West. You will assist with patient care under a Registered Nurse, perform safe transport, and support observation duties on the unit.

The role includes documentation in the electronic medical record, unit-reception tasks, and shift coverage on nights from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with a 24-hour scheduled week and weekends every third week.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
• Current CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to the patient according to the plan of care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher.
• Provide the services of an Observer for patients requiring constant observation, in person or via remote monitoring.
• Perform general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient unit functioning.
• Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.
