Nurse Assistant II, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, Full-time 12 hr. Nights, Winston-Salem
JOB SUMMARY: Provides assistance to the nursing staff by performing specific treatments and basic nursing care to assigned patients, following physician and nursing orders to ensure high-quality, age-appropriate care.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED; completion of a North Carolina Board of Nursing approved Nurse Aide II course or current nursing student listed as a Nurse Aide II.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: North Carolina Board of Nursing listing as a Nurse Aide II; Registered Nurse Aide I with North Carolina Department of Health and Human Service Regulation; Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCSL) certification.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Assist with patient care under RN supervision, including admissions, transfers, discharges, and pre/post-operative care. 2. Maintain a safe environment, promoting fall precautions and safety measures. 3. Communicate patient information accurately and timely. 4. Perform procedures correctly under RN guidance. 5. Communicate professionally with team members, patients, and families. 6. Take responsibility for performance and professional growth. 7. Provide age/developmentally appropriate care following guidelines.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Effective communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, ability to adapt to workload changes, and handle competing demands.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Exposure to patients, potential infections, chemicals, and occasional radiation; use of protective equipment; subject to interruptions and irregular hours.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, and perform dexterous tasks; lift up to 50 lbs; occasional exposure to hazards.
