Kettering Health Dayton is seeking a Nurse Assistant / Health Unit Coordinator to support patient care and unit operations on the day shift. The role combines patient assistance with essential administrative duties to ensure smooth unit workflow.

The position requires 6 months of healthcare or administrative support experience or an Ohio STNA certification, plus BLS within three months of hire and basic computer/EHR proficiency.

Responsibilities & Requirements

The Nurse Assistant / Health Unit Coordinator supports patient care and unit operations by providing direct assistance to patients with daily living activities and performing essential administrative and clerical functions. This dual role ensures effective communication, accurate record keeping, and a safe, organized environment for patients and staff. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Required Education:

• None required.

Required Work Experience:

• 6 months experience in patient care or administrative support in a healthcare setting, or State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification in Ohio.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within three months of hire.
