Job description

The Clinical Instructor is responsible for supervising nurse assistant students during clinical training in long-term care and skilled nursing facilities. The instructor ensures students provide safe, professional, and compassionate care while meeting state training requirements and program learning objectives.

Responsibilities

• Supervise CNA students during clinical rotations.
• Evaluate student performance and competency in patient care skills.
• Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and remediation as needed.
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, infection control standards, and state regulations.
• Verify student attendance, participation, and clinical hours.
• Demonstrate and reinforce proper CNA skills and procedures.
• Maintain professional communication with facility staff and school administration.
• Complete required clinical documentation and student evaluations.
• Report student concerns, incidents, or safety issues promptly.Promote a positive learning environment that supports student success.

Qualifications

• Current, active Utah RN or LPN license in good standing.
• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience.
• Ability to supervise and evaluate CNA students in a clinical setting.
• Strong communication and professional leadership skills.
• Reliable transportation to assigned clinical sites.

Preferred

• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, home health, or acute care.
• Previous teaching, mentoring, or preceptor experience.
