Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit is seeking a Nurse Assistant Apprentice to join the Ortho Neuro department. The role supports Registered Nurses with patient care during a 36-hour work week, including a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with alternating weekends and holidays.

The apprentice must be enrolled in HFHS Department of Labor approved training, complete competencies, and contribute to a safe, compassionate patient experience across diverse populations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must complete HFHS Nurse Assistant Apprenticeship Program recognized by the Department of Labor (DOL) and pass all competencies.
• Ability to read, write and understand verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, performs specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs.
• Provides input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care.
• Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures.
• Recognizes and participates in ongoing education for self-improvement.
• Follows Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence.
