Job summary

Kettering Health Dayton is seeking a Nurse Assistant to support nursing staff and enhance patient care. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and maintain a safe, clean environment under licensed supervision.

Entry-level with on-the-job training; BLS certification required within 90 days of hire. Eligible candidates may include STNA-certified individuals, nursing students, or current Kettering Health employees.

Qualifications

Responsibilities & Requirements

The Nurse Assistant provides essential support to nursing staff by assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. This role contributes directly to patient comfort, safety, and quality of care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.None required.None required; entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Must Have One Of The Following

• 6 months experience in patient care in a healthcare setting, or State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification in Ohio.
• Nursing student or listed as pre-nursing as shown on transcripts
• Current employee with Kettering

Preferred Work Experience

• One year of experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in patient care or administrative support.

Prior experience as a nurse assistant, nursing aide, or in a healthcare setting preferred. State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification in Ohio, active and in good standing
