Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Nurse Assistant to provide essential patient care in a hospital setting. You will assist with activities of daily living, including hygiene, feeding and mobility, under supervision of a Registered Nurse.

You will observe patients, report changes, transport as needed, and support admission, discharge and transfer processes while maintaining safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of a Nurse Assistant Program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, bathing, feeding and ambulation.
• Observes patients and reports changes in condition to Registered Nurse; responds to call lights.
• Transports patients to and from units under RN direction and established transfer techniques.
• Straightens patient rooms, changes linens, and performs related tasks.
• Replenishes supply stock needed for basic patient care and orders supplies.
• Assists with admission, discharge and transfer of patients.
• Follows safety policies to provide a safe environment for employees, patients and visitors.
• Contributes to cost effective patient care by monitoring use of time, equipment and supplies.
• Performs related duties; all essential functions noted under ADA.

• Observes patients and reports any changes in condition to Registered Nurse. Answers patient call lights and responds appropriately.
• Transports patients to and from units, as directed by Registered Nurse and in accordance with established transfer techniques.
• Straightens up patient rooms, changes linens, and performs related tasks.
• Replenishes supply stock needed for basic patient care and orders supplies.
• Assists with admission, discharge and transfer of patients.
• Complies with safety policies and procedures in order to provide a safe environment for employees, patients and visitors.

Job Qualification
