Corewell Health in Royal Oak, MI is seeking a Part-time Nurse Assistant to join the Progressive Care Unit (3CN/4CN/5CN) at Royal Oak Hospital. You will assist with patient care, transport, and documentation under RN supervision.

The role offers a supportive team, benefits package, and a sign-on bonus up to $750. Shift is Day, 24 hours weekly; weekend frequency every third weekend; on-site position.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy under RN direction.
• Safely transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher and document services.
• Provide observer services for patients requiring constant observation, including remote video monitoring.
• Perform receptionist and clerical duties to support nursing unit operations.
• Document care in the electronic medical record.

About The Unit

3 CN is a ten-bed unit who specializes in general surgery, vascular, and thoracic patients. 4 CN is a cardiovascular and thoracic surgery unit. We receive patients directly from the ICU and we can monitor patients who are on various anti-arrhythmic. 5CN is focused on discharge plan and readiness.

Scope of work

Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety. Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications
